General Motors will shut down Saab after the automaker wasn't able to conclude a deal to sell the brand to Spyker Cars, GM said on Friday. “Despite the best efforts of all involved, it has become very clear that the due diligence required to complete this complex transaction could not be executed in a reasonable time," GM Europe president Nick Reilly said in a statement. The 2013 Ford Mondeo leaks
The 2013 Ford Mondeo – or, more accurately, the 2013 Ford Fusion in the US – has appeared on an iPhone app ahead of a reveal at the Detroit Motor Show. It may not actually be the 2013 Ford Mondeo – it is in fact the 2013 Ford Fusion in the US – but, apart from a few subtle changes, the Fusion that’s made an appearance on a Ford iPhone app is the car Europe will get as the new Mondeo. The 2013 Fusion is due to be revealed in all its glory at the Detroit Motor Show tomorrow (9/1/12), and Ford released an iPad app that counted down the days until the Fusion was due to put in an appearance.
Japanese automaker Suzuki has backed off plans to build large cars and build assembly plants overseas, according to a report in the Nikkei business newspaper. Suzuki has shown a series of concept vehicles named Kizashi that executives said were pointing toward a production version of a large sedan. And pictures of sedan protoypes have been captured by spy photographers.
